Bennett Lerner joined the Ades & Associates DC Office in December 2020 and took over the consumer, civil, and bankruptcy matters. He handles immigration, administrative and social security matters as well as personal and property damage matters. 
Before joining Ades, Bennett had a long career practicing poverty law in a full range of civil matters starting out opening his own practice in 1991 after graduating Northeastern University, School of Law in 1990. He directed and supervised legal clinics for homeless staffed by volunteer law students in Cambridge, MA for 5 years. Bennett has practiced law providing legal services in NM and the Navajo and Zuni Reservations.
In 2006, Bennett came to DC and joined Neighborhood Legal Services as a Managing Attorney. Following, he Directed a legal clinic supervising pro bono attorneys from the Firm Kirkland and Ellis to provide free legal services at weekly legal clinics held at the Friendship Baptist Church in SW. Subsequently, Bennett was an adjunct faculty in the Low-Income Taxpayer clinic of the Columbus School of Law of the Catholic University.
He also spent 3 years at the University of the District of Columbia David A Clark School of Law in a Public Interest Fellowship in the Teaching general Practice Clinic and assisting the teaching of a Law and Justice course while working on a System Change Project. Mid-career Bennett enrolled at UDC in the Education Department and obtained an MAT while substitute teaching in DCPS schools for 2 years.
